6. ‘The policy of reservation of seats for admission to the professional 
courses is good for the deprived sections of society.’

Write a debate in 150-200 words either for or against the motion.                       [10]

Ans. * “The policy of reservation of seats for admission, on the basis of caste or religion, leads to 
unequal-division. This needs immediate suspension”.
*Good Morning dignitaries & my dear friends I karan is infront of you to share my views 
against the motion.
* India is a diverse nation where the past reveals that there was division of society on the 
basis of caste colour, race etc. Unfortunately it’s the same in many areas even today but 
it doesn’t mean that we need to give reservation to anyone or everyone on the basis of the 
lines been drawn in the past.

* Poona part 1932, gives reservation to (SC/ST)
* There are many who raised their voice to get reservation
* E.g. Issue to Jat-reservation was in limelight.
* I personally believe that reservation should be given to those who are economically 
backward only.
* Even the Creamy-layer (sons whose fathers are I.A.S, CA etc being SC/ST or OBC) should 
not be given reservation.
* Though reservation helps the section to get a seat bit easily but what about those who are 
general candidates from humble background?
* I would like to ask you all that when govt gives R.T.E (Right to Education) to all; when it 
gives mid-day meal to all the government schools, thinking that private schools already 
have the facilities.
* Why reservation to deprived sections on the basis of caste, religion primarily.
* Rather than giving reservation, the steps should be taken to improve the situation of the 
country.
* We need to develop, educational institutions where by facilities will be given to all.
* In schools as well equality for all; equal opportunity to all is to be maintained.
* Teachers should be trained to tackle the situations irrespective of the fact that casteism 
and gender bias is still followed in many areas.
* Govt. should ensure better implementation of laws.
* Awareness should be spread not only about fundamental rights but also about fundamental 
duties. Being active-citizens of the country we need to perform our duties as well.
* Once equality is ensured there will be no need of reservation for anybody.

you in the morning assembly of your school. You are Karuna/Karan, 
Head Girl/Head Boy.
Ans. Benefits of early rising
* “Early to bed & early to rise makes the man, healthy, wealthy and wise”
*You can do exercises, yoga and meditation which is better to be done early morning.
* Studying early morning helps you to learn easily & retain the stuff longer.
* You can help your elders in doing household chores.
* You get time to wish your elders, grand-parents in the morning.
* Meditate & pray in the morning to give yourself time to relax, rejuvenate & understand 
yourself.
* You can feel calm after looking at the beauty of nature early in the morning.
* All this helps you to stay calm, happy & energetic all throughout the day.
* You can set goals for the day ahead.
* You won’t rush to reach your destination.
* “Waking early in the morning is a reward,
You can see the world that is un-explored”.



7. India is a land of diversity. One way in which it makes us feel proud of it is the number of 
festivals we enjoy. Write an article in 150-200 words on ‘Festivals of India’. You are Karuna/

Ans. India is a land of fasts & festivals, culturally rooted, traditionally rich.
These festivals are being observed from time immemorial.
Major Indian festivals
(a) National- Republic day, independence day etc with patriotic favour.
(b) Religion based- Dussehra, Guru Nanak, Kali Puja, Diwali, Jayanti
(c) Change of season- Baisakhi, Onam etc.
Importance of these festivals
(a) Social gatherings
(b) Meeting & understanding people
(c) Mythology, customs, traditions, history is learnt and valued.
(a) all these festivals teach us to forget enmity, narrowness & bitterness & join our hands 
with each other for the sake of society and religion for universal brotherhood, peace & 
love.
* It’s our sacred duty to value and celebrate these festivals
* It’s celebration of life, away from hustle-bustle of life. We then get time for ourselves.
These festivals bring peace & joy the masses.
* All these festivals should be celebrated with simplicity. All these celebrations should not
harm anyone physically or emotionally.

Rising pollution, fast and competitive lifestyle, lack of nutritious food etc. have caused health 
woes for a large section of our population. Providing health care used to be a charitable and 
ethical activity. Today it has become commercialized, a money spinning business. Write an 
article in 150-200 words on ‘How to provide proper health care to the common man’. You are 
Karan/Karuna.

Ans. v In the rat-race of earning more and living better life style. Everyone is busy giving no time 
to oneself. Exercising, yoga, meditation is uncommon these days. Apart from all this the 
health care has turned to be big business wherein minting money is more common than 
charity.
* Every now & then there are articles & reports revealing the cases wherein illegally stealing 
of kidneys in the hospitals is done.
* The poor vagabond who has no security of two square meal in a day can’t afford the fees 
the doctors these days ask for.
* Many govt hospitals are in a condition which is beyond explanation.
* Inclusion of private sector in health care has made the entire situation commericalised 
to such an extent that there are many who do uncessary operations without any human 
concern.
* We expect the government to take necessary steps in the 2016 budget to give additional 
investment to the health care in India.
* We look forward to see better conditions of Primary health care centres in rural areas 
primarily where there are cases wherein pregnant ladies have delivered the babies on the 
road at times.
* Health insurance is to be improved.
* Awareness is to be spread among the masses.
*Univeral health coverage & unimpeded access to reproductive & sexual health services is 
needed.
* Above all, one should remember
“Prevention is better than cure”
Therefore proper care should start at one’s place.
With all this we’ll be able to dream about a nation which will be healthy, wealthy & wise.
We’ll be able to meet the millenium Development goals with quality
